The Greenbizz project on the Tivoli site near the Canal and the Tour & Taxi Exhibition Center in Brussels consists in the creation of a center dedicated to the promotion of environmental projects. The center includes 5000 m² of low energy usage workshops and of 2500 m² of “passive” standard incubator space, which will accommodate start-up companies of environmental vocation. A second building of 4500 m² houses workshops on 2 levels.
Our commission is to perform the execution studies of the prefabricated facade, the frameworks in LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber), of the roof lights and the glazed facades, which bear on the main concrete structure of the building.
One of the key first tasks was to undertake a precise wind study in order to define the strict minimum design loads. This allowed the identification of zones subject to different load intensities and consequently the optimization of the frameworks in relation to their situation and form. The framing members in BLC Duo (GLULAM) were ultimately chosen for reasons of cost and strength and customized connections were developed in order to ensure sufficient clearance over the main structure whilst guaranteeing horizontal restraint to the façade elements. The structure of the roof lights will be in LVL.
We continuously embrace new challenges to support our clients in their projects.
Working collaboratively, we approach projects of all sizes with creativity and dedication.
