Timber Engineering
The project includes the construction of 24 housing units in the interior of the block and a street-front building including a kitchen workshop and 4 housing units. The program permits the requalification of the site currently occupied by warehouses used for parking. It is also planned to create green space that generates connections between the various facilities surrounding the site: the arts school, school no. 2 and no. 14, the Mosaic-XL recreation center and the Goffart Street supermarket.
Our study consists in the execution study of the curtain wall in wood. It consists in timber box beams placed between the concrete frame or against the masonry walls. The box beams are made with I-beams and are between 240 and 300mm thick to obtain a low energy building.
