In close collaboration with Charpentes Jonckheere Spanten, we studied all the timber-frame facades (14 000 m²) of this ambitious project designed by Shigeru Ban. The sections of wood were defined but also and especially, the various assemblies. We had to respect the different architectural and technical constraints to precisely design the numerous fastening systems. All the frames were prefabricated in the workshop in order to accelerate the installation on site. All the design work (3D and 2D) was carried out in-house.
Some complex connections were optimized using a finite element analysis.
The high degree of prefabrication of these timber frames, combined with the integration of the specific requirements of the architects and the company, constituted the challenge of this project.
We continuously embrace new challenges to support our clients in their projects.
Working collaboratively, we approach projects of all sizes with creativity and dedication.
