The idea for a new children and youth meeting center (KJOC) has given way to a leisure center with a larger program. This new building with wooden cladding will house a youth center, two multipurpose halls and a childcare center. In 2018, the center was given a name: The Splinter.
The entire roof structure is constructed of larchwood beams and laminated veneer sheets. These bear on the wooden columns of the facade. In the end walls, large, cantilevered concrete walls provide the necessary support points and horizontal stability. The building is founded on strip foundations.
