Renovation and extension of a six-story office building with three basement levels, located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, to accommodate office spaces and a public-access facility (ERP).
Ney WOW is involved in a major refurbishment project of an existing reinforced concrete building, originally composed of columns, beams, solid slabs, and distribution cores. This ambitious transformation includes a 4-meter extension on the street-facing façade, from level R-1 to R+5, involving the full reconstruction of the façade and the creation of a new basement level.
The existing roof is demolished and replaced with an accessible rooftop terrace, built with composite steel decking on metal beams. The project also features a complete redesign of the vertical circulation cores: both the stairwells and elevator shafts are demolished and rebuilt, with updated geometries and locations to enhance the building’s functionality.
On the courtyard side, a glazed canopy is added at the ground floor, replacing a small existing roof. A portion of the slab at level R-1 is opened to create a double-height space, enhancing natural light and spatial quality. Targeted structural reinforcements are implemented where needed, including the addition of load-bearing elements and the infilling of former openings.
This project exemplifies Ney WOW’s expertise in transforming existing structures through precise, sustainable engineering solutions tailored to contemporary use.
